Eliza Southwood

Thanks to some very patriotic Yorkshire ladies, it has not been a hard feat for us to remember that the annual Tour de France starts this Saturday – in Leeds.

With the celebrated race at the forefront of our minds, we started thinking about how cycling can influence the designs around us. Not expecting to find much of a correlation, we were thrilled to come across Eliza Southwood, a former architect turned artist and illustrator, who specialises in cycling themed paintings.

Working with both silk screens and digital illustrations, Eliza uses a range of mediums, including coffee, to trace the history of cycling from its illustrious past to its present day popularity.
