THE BRIEF:

The redevelopment of an impressive Grade II listed duplex apartment in the heart of historic Mayfair. Determined to reinstate many of the original features and restore the apartment to its former grandeur after multiple iterations since 1900.

THE DESIGNER:

Lucinda, our Lead Senior Designer on the project, had a vision to introduce sustainable materials and some 15 British brands, reflective of today’s modern Mayfair sensibilities. By using brands such as Porta Romana, Samuel Heath and Patrick Ireland we were able to showcase their expertise to ensure quality craftmanship was infused into the property.

THE DESIGN BRIEF:

Our brief was to create a unique development that is understated, yet beautiful. The new design sees all space maximised upon and more importantly, original features of significance, such as vaulted ceilings and cornicing, be reinstated. Paying homage to the surrounding area and the building’s Arts & Crafts pedigree, the interior design is inspired by the historical tailors, couturiers and fashion houses, that reside in the area.

The courtyard hideaway gives a secluded area to relax and enjoy, surrounded by planting, soft lighting and woven textures. The courtyard has crittall doors on 3 sides, allowing light to flood into the lower ground bedrooms and hallway gallery space.

Anchored in the celebration of British craftsmanship and design, the apartment features some 15 different UK design brands. From Chesneys fireplaces and Samuel Heath bathrooms to Bert Frank lighting and Havwoods flooring, these suppliers provide a timeless elegance, which was key in the success of this project.
